A form of massage that involves stimulating the lymphatic drainage system of the body for the removal of toxins and excess fluids. This therapy is specifically suitable for eliminating excess body fluids that tend to accumulate in the deeper tissues of the skin and muscles, bringing toxicity out with it. This body contouring massage not only reduces toxicity and water retention but also tightens the skin and evens out muscle tone.
You can expect to experience improved blood circulation, stronger immunity, better metabolism, improved elasticity of skin, improved digestion, effective weight loss as well as reducing the appearance of cellulite.
How long do the results last? Most clients see the physical effects of our lymphatic drainage massage for up to 6 hours. Long term results will improve with every treatment and you will start to look and feel noticeably better for up to a month each time. Few people have negative reactions to lymphatic drainage massage however you may experience headache, nausea and/or fatigue which can be prevented or treated with hydration and trace minerals. Other benefits include accelerating the body’s own natural detoxification process, and rejuvenating cell function. For a specific program, it is recommended to have a lymphatic drainage massage weekly for 4-6 weeks for quicker and longer lasting results.
Candie has been a valuable practitioner of Salt Wellness for 4 years, and bodyworker for 7 years. She combines both Eastern and Western techniques with stretching, acupressure points, and moving energy through meridians. Including deep tissue massage to relax tense muscles while invigorating your body’s blood flow and promoting health through proper relaxation, Brazillian lymphatic drainage massage to encourage circulation and stimulation of the nervous system. She is also a master in Usui Reiki. Her signature specialty includes reiki techniques, and chakra balancing to promote further healing. Candie loves the challenge of working with those experiencing chronic pain, specifically in the neck and shoulders, hips and also those who suffer from headaches and sciatica. This is an ancient Modality and has been around for 5000 years. It uses a series of pumping, light lymph massage and flushing techniques. It opens up all of the ducts or channels to allow for the proper flow of oxygen, waste and food to move through the whole-body system. This is a very relaxing and sedating treatment as there is a lot of somatic rocking throughout the treatment. The focus of this treatment is the area above the muscular system, where everything is stored within the lymphatic system. Most people feel very light and energized after a session. These effects may last up to 2 weeks. You may expect a lot of elimination to occur. Keeping well hydrated before and after will benefit your system even more and prevent potential healing/detox symptoms. Along with the benefits from strengthening your immune system, you may also experience weight loss, reduced aches and pains, reduced stiffness, less fog brain, less water retention and positive skin texture changes. It is recommended to do a series of 4 sessions, once per week or within a month, to clear and open the body for better health.
After 4 sessions, it is recommended to do this treatment once monthly to maintain the benefits. This unique form of lymphatic drainage also uses coconut oil mixed with essential oils to promote detoxification and healthy drainage. This gentle massage technique helps in improving circulation, reducing inflammation, boosting the immune system, and relieving congestion. By promoting the detoxification process, lymphatic drainage can also assist in weight loss and improve the appearance of the skin. You should also notice a reduction in fluid retention and bloating post treatment. Contraindications: Pregnancy/Breast Feeding, Cancer remission within a year, open wounds/sores, skin infection or rash. Please let your therapist know if you have had gastric bypass surgery or you have tubes in your stomach (will avoid liver and spleen).
